My Personal Top 10 Anime (Currently)

#3 Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

We’re now in the top three and what better way to start than with a political war drama about the oppressed people of Japan starting a revolution against the Holy Britannia Empire (Great Britain). Introducing Code Geass. Code Geass is set in a world where the Holy Britannia Empire controls most of the world due to forced colonization. Britannia waged war on Japan, crushing them in one month due to their sheer technological advantage. After the war, Japan was stripped of name, culture, and history. Both Japan and its people are now referred to as 11; completely stripping them of their humanity and reducing them to a mere number. There is just something so well-crafted with this political war drama that makes me love it so much. While it shares some themes with Eureka Seven, I hold this one higher on my list because I find its world to be a tad bit more interesting. I find this to be a great watch, and something I would recommend to anybody who’s never experienced anime before.
